We know you all love the Field Vision week-to-week power rankings! Well, they are back for our very rendition to kick-off the 2025 season! Not to play spoiler here, but the top of the rankings will look pretty familiar to where we left off in New Orleans last year (We're looking at you, Jalen Hurts). The bottom of the Top 10 gets a little bit fuzzier. Can CJ Stroud shake the sophomore slump in year 3? Do we actually trust JJ McCarthy? Does Jayden Daniels revert to the mean? All questions we're on the edge of our seats to find out! Well - here's goes nothing.

  1. Houston Texans

The Texans' slight recess from their potential as the "Next Big Thing" should be short. CJ Stroud proved himself as an elite decision maker during his rookie season and even during the slump, he led the team to the playoffs (playing in last year's AFC South will assist with that). While Houston's offense was a burden in 2024, the defensive secondary in particular performed at a ridiculously high level behind the best combo of corners in the sport, Derek Stingley and Kamari Lassiter. Many believe that Will Anderson is the next perennial DPOY candidate, so with that leap and the offense's reclamation, expect the Texans to be back in the mix.

  1. Minnesota Vikings

Kevin O'Connell is a Top 5 coach in the league and that should not be as controversial a statement as some make it out to be. Even with a redshirt freshman at quarterback, KOC has earned the benefit of the doubt. JJ McCarthy has one of the best play-callers in his ear on Day One, similar to Brian Flores wearing the headset for the opposite side of the ball. The exoticness of Flores' laminated play card seemed to "revolutionize" certain philosophies. As long as things progress from their usual quality positioning, the Vikes are off to the races.

  1. Detroit Lions

Wire to wire last year, the Lions had a strong case for being the best team with the regular season and point differential included, but so much of their swagger and offensive creativity went out the door with the new Bears and Jets coaches. The brain drain is a true phenomena for successful NFL teams who still fail to reach the ultimate mountaintop. The Lions still bring Dan Campbell and one of the more talented rosters in football back including last season's Defensive Player of the First Quarter, Aidan Hutchison. With their elite safety play and the Wolverine roaring back, the weight falls on Jared Goff's shoulders.

  1. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens' tilt to open the season is, for the second year in a row, is against their final playoff opponent. The first Sunday Night Football broadcast will see the Ravens butt up against the same Bills that slipped away from them to the AFC title game. In 2024, we were all pleasantly surprised by Derrick Henry's elite performance, and the assumption that the now-31-year-old tailback will continue is merely that--an assumption. Lamar Jackson is one of the few truly dominant QBs in the NFL, so the Ravens will always be in contention during his prime, but the rest of the division's resurgence may affect their consistency.

  1. Green Bay Packers

The football gods may have blessed us with the reversal of the Herschel Walker trade from 1989, but Micah Parsons may not be the player that gets Green Bay over the edge. Jordan Love has one of the most talented arms in football, but for some reason, the rifle misfires. Because of LaFleur's coaching ability and Hafley's debut as a coordinator, Title Town has more to be excited about than a gaggle of receivers. Oh yeah, they added, perhaps, the most talented wideout wins the draft.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield, for all of his nuances and idiosyncrasies, is a Top 10 QB because he has thoroughly dominated his division. Inheriting the reins from Tom Brady had pressure that neither Mac Jones nor Cam Newton could manage, but our boy Baker has. Now that the offense has been this good, Todd Bowles has now taken the time and draft capital to figure out the defense which may provide the Bucs with a surprisingly high win count.

  1. Los Angeles Rams

Sean McVay may hold the title of Best Coach in the League longer than anyone else in history. Giving a culinary genius another tasty ingredient like Davante Adams, who has still been an issue for defenses, will likely amplify flavors. As the last team to lose to the Super Bowl champs by one score, the Rams defense and their 'Cheetah' package baffles defensive nerds and laymen alike, but players like Jared Verse and Braden Fisk make things easier. The largest question is in the trenches as the Rams have yet to properly replace Andrew Whitworth with an aging QB.

  1. Buffalo Bills

The reigning MVP should be logged for about 12 wins a season until the Patriots or someone else in the East complete their rebuild. Sean McDermott and Bobby Babich once again put together a tough-nosed, no-name group of hitters. Then they, inevitably, fell to their eternal rivals, but the juice from having the Hard Knocks crew in this offseason could finally squeeze the lemon hard enough. Again, the regular season should be a breeze unless Drake Maye pops, so the real season begins in January in western New York.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs

A Super Bowl blowout used to be a regular occurrence prior to Gen Z Redditors dominating the conversational landscape. Even without their top targets on the outside and Tasmanian devil of an RB for most or the season, the Chiefs squeaked out win after win. Rice's suspension will loom over the most difficult chunk of their year. Another year where the AFC Championship is the floor adds more pressure, but who more adept to handle it than the team who's been to four of the last five Super Bowls.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles

From top to bottom, the Philadelphia Eagles' roster looks like a championship roster from when men grew mustaches like dandelions. Jalen Hurts is probably the single perfect example of a leader in today's age. The seamless combination of swagger and humility covers the inequities of their head coach's silliness. The Godfather of Defense is ready for another round of rolling through the league with the system he perfected years ago. Throwing the reigning champs at #1 is the easy thing to do, but also an obvious thing to do.
